Gubbio Gubbio is in Umbria, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy. The origins of Gubbio is dated a millennium a . C, very important centre of ancient Rome of which remains are the thermal bath, the theatre and the mausoleum. Gubbio over the century has maintained completely the aspect of a medieval city in the structure of the buildings as much in the road system, the city is surrounded by castles and monastery . The tour suggested will start from the monastery of San Francis, build in the XIII century over a private house of the Spadalonga family and according to the history of San Francis the monastery was the place where the Saint was exiled. Continue to Piazza Grande the centre of the city, from which we will admire the Palazzo dei Consoli dated 1332 and Palazzo Pretorio. We will visit the Duomo in a gothic style which faces the Palazzo Ducale with a beautiful garden build by the wish of Federico Da Montefeltro . We will continue through via dei Consoli, the street is the most charming of Gubbio, the buildings are typical of late medieval, the ground-floor are antique shops bar restaurant and apartments. |

Urbino Urbino is in the region of Marche. The small, exquisitely charming, city of Urbino is situated in the heart of Italy, on the slopes of the Apennines, facing towards the Adriatic Sea. Urbino has a unique artistic and cultural heritage. The many works of art by famous artists which can be found here has led to the town being known as the "Cradle of the Italian Renaissance". Illustrious names born in Urbino include: Raffaello Sanzio, Donato Bramante, Girolamo Genga, Federico Barocci, Federico Brandanti, Nicola da Urbino and many more. To visit: the National Gallery of the Marche, the Albani Museum, the Gessi Museum, the Archeological Museum, Raffaello's House and the Typography Museum. Among the religious buildings those of greatest importance are Urbino Cathedral, the Church of St Francesco, the Church of St Domenico, the Church of St. Spirito, the Church of St Chiara and the Synagogue. Other sites well worth visiting include the Monument dedicated to Raffaello, the Monument erected in honor of Pope Clemente XI, the Egyptian Obelisk, the Column of St. Spirito, the Ornamental Column and the Fonte del leone Fountain. |
